U.S Sports Training Equipment Manufacturer Signs Exclusive Contract with Major Japanese Retailer.

Sports Attack-Iwamitsu Contract Signing 021309Reno, NV- On Friday, February 13, Sports Attack LLC, a local manufacturer of professional sports training equipment, signed an exclusive distribution contract with Iwamitsu Sports, a major distributor of sporting goods equipment in Japan.

“This is a huge opportunity for our small company,” said Kurt Brenner, Partner and Vice President of Sales for Sports Attack. “This firm came to us with interest to bring our products to Japan, that was an important aspect of this business relationship. They knew coming in who we were and what we were capable of bringing to the table,” Brenner said.

Iwamitsu Sports will be the exclusive distributor in Japan of Sports Attack’s full line of training equipment that includes baseball, softball, volleyball, tennis and most recently football.  Iwamitsu Sports controls over 1600 retailers in Japan, or 80% of the retail market in that country.  “We fully researched all of the U.S. sports training equipment manufacturers and found Sports Attack’s line to be of the highest quality and most uniquely designed to fill the needs of athletes in Japan,” said Kazuomi Iwamitsu, President of Iwamitsu Inc. “We believe that there is significant market in Japan for all of these sports, most especially volleyball, baseball and softball.”

Japan, the second largest economy in the world next to the U.S., has had great success in international softball play, winning the Gold Medal in the recent Olympic games.  Its success in developing professional level baseball players is also noteworthy; currently there are 12 Japanese players in the U.S. Major Leagues.

Domestically, Sports Attack only sells direct through the internet or through authorized sales representatives throughout the country. This marks the first international distributor for the company although they are currently actively seeking representation in Europe.
